Solento Surf Festival supports: Changing Tides Foundation
Solento Surf Festival is proud to support our partner Changing Tides Foundation (CTF).
CTF is one of two incredible charities that your drink sales and surf comp entries will be donated to in support their mission that access to the outdoors and the ocean is a human right.
Changing Tides Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 by female surfers that felt called to do more than just take waves. Born from a desire to create a community connected to the sea, CTF empowers women to protect the planet and promotes inclusivity in the ocean and beyond.
Through their Women’s Outreach Mentorship Program (WOMP), they mentor diverse, underserved teenage girls globally, using surfing as a tool to build self-efficacy, self-confidence, leadership skills, and education on the importance in protecting the planet, clean water, media, story-telling and the ocean. Empowering women promotes healthy economies and productivity and is critical in addressing climate change and pollution issues successfully. From plastic pollution to climate change, their goal is to activate people and communities to participate in global solutions to benefit the future of our planet.
They collaborate with global non-profits to implement community solutions to promote gender equality and ocean health. They encourage individuals to take a look at how they consume and dispose of things, in an effort to combat climate change. They educate about composting, food waste and encourage regenerative agriculture. They provide ideas and solutions on how to protect our oceans and wildlife by using less single-use plastic in their daily lives and on their travels to reduce pollution and eliminate marine debris.
