How to celebrate National Tequila Day
National Tequila Day is July 24th. On this day some might think shots, countless margaritas, and more shots. If you are looking to elevate your celebrations, here are some thought starters!
1. Host a dinner with tequila pairings: Each of Solento's expressions of tequila has a unique and delicious flavor profile that pairs well with many different foods. Solento Blanco works great with fresh, bright dishes such as sushi, ceviche, or papaya salad. Solento Reposado with its slightly sweet notes balances well with slightly savory dishes such as grilled shrimp or Zuni Sheet Pan chicken (check out Gwyneth Paltrow's It's all easy recipe here). Solento Añejo, is delightful with dark chocolate or mole pulled pork.
2. Make a tequila-based cocktail, that isn't a Margarita: Don't get us wrong, Margaritas are delicious, but there is so much more to the world of agave-based cocktails. Try an Añejo Old Fashioned, Slow Sun Martini, or a Solento Eastside. Head to the website for more cocktail recipes!
3. Create a tequila flight: Pretend you are at a wine tasting, except it's tequila. Sit down, sniff, and sip each expression and write down what you experience from the aroma, the body, the taste, the finish. There is so much more to that flavor profile!
